  Sorrell i. Strauss, DMD

  Oral Surgeon

  After settling in Stuart, Dr. Sorrell Strauss began working at Martin Memorial Hospital and opened the first Oral and Maxillofacial Center in Stuart in 1973. Over the years, the practice has expanded to Saint Lucie County with four full time oral surgeons and three offices. As the technology advanced, Dr. Strauss established the first Dental Implant Center on the treasure coast to provide dental implant services to the Treasure Coast.

  James E. Strauss, DMD

  Oral Surgeon

  He received his DMD degree from the University of Florida in 1992 and then completed a one year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Internship at Louisiana State University Medical Center/Charity Hospital. Dr. Jim completed his Oral Maxillofacial training at University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital between 1992 and 1997. Glad to return home to the treasure coast, Dr. Jim joined his father at Oral-Facial Surgical Associates in July 1997.

  Alan C. Haspel, DMD

  Oral Surgeon

  Dr. Haspel completed his internship and residency at the University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Hospital Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. From 2004 to 2009, he had the privilege to train with world renowned surgeon, Dr. Robert Marx. Over his last year of training, Dr. Haspel served as chief resident of the department. Upon graduation, he was awarded by the attending faculty as the most competent and artistic surgeon within the entire residency with the “Outstanding Surgical Skills Award.” During his five years with the University of Miami, Dr. Haspel obtained vast experience with exceedingly difficult maxillofacial trauma, pathology and reconstruction cases, as this was an international referral center for the most complex patients. He performed surgery on many patients whose cases made international headlines on The Discovery Channel, CNN, MSN and The Doctors television show. Dr. Haspel is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. From 2011 to 2012, Dr. Haspel obtained additional fellowship experience in Virginia and served as Assistant Professor for Howard University’s Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

  Jordan M. Kaltman, DMD

  Oral Surgeon

  Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Dr. Kaltman graduated from the Shady Side Academy Senior School in 1997 and continued his education at Oberlin College in Oberlin, OH. While earning his undergraduate degree, he played varsity football and basketball. After graduating from Oberlin College in 2001, Dr. Kaltman participated in an internship program as an athletic trainer with the Miami Dolphins.

  Kathryn M. Vorwald, DDS, MD

  Oral Surgeon

  he is a highly-trained yet down-to-earth Board-certified oral & maxillofacial surgeon who enjoys creating an inviting and openly interactive experience for all patients. She spent 6 years in the busy metropolis of Detroit, Michigan, managing and treating a comprehensive range of patients from wisdom tooth extractions and dental implants to complex facial trauma to cosmetic facial and orthognathic jaw surgeries to advanced tumors of the jaws and face. During her time in Detroit, she also attended Wayne State University School of Medicine and obtained her Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree, graduating with Distinction as well as being inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She also completed dedicated hospital- and clinic-based Anesthesia training as well as her internship in General Surgery at St. John/Providence Hospitals.
